Ughandi B Water Project

Ughandi B lies in Singida Region Central Tanzania, it has no modern conveniences like electricity, water or flushable toilets.

Rain is sparse and crops fail regularly.

The people have to dig holes, by hand, in the river bed in order to find water. What they find is dirty water.

The Ughandi B Water Project was launched in August 2005 by Bryony and Richard Loader, a husband and wife team from Somerset who have visited the village and befreinded the inhabitants. These pages tell of those trips, what they are doing and why.  more . . .

It will take just £12,000 pounds to establish a water supply to the village of Ughandi B. That might sound a lot but £12,000 pounds - we spend that on a car - to them it makes the difference between crops failing or surviving, filth or cleanliness, life or death.

Please help the people of Ughandi B gain access to clean fresh water - support the Ughandi B Water Project.
